Report Seminar Taiji Quan 2010
Our trainer Robert Haberkorn on the weakend 23rd/24th October 2010 arranged a seminar about taiji quan, dealing with the set shisanba. External cotrainer was Martin Pollermann.
The set shisanba uses a short stick, about 45 inch in length. This stick is similar to the one used within Jodo (Japanese Martial Arts). This set originally derives from the martial art taiji dao, which was introduced by Shen Xijing. After minor changes it was implemented into the training program of Martin and Robert.
Besides elements, associated with taiji quan, this weapon set also shows figures , which are related to baguazhang ('Pa Kua Chuan') or other martial arts. Therefore this set is extremly versatile. Protruding, swaiing beats alternate with near ranging defensive technics, and also striking, pricking and other technics.
All participants were pleased by the versatile and interesting parts, comming along with body challenging parts during both the days. Also the board within the brakes and the time for exchanging experiences was fine and made the participants to enjoy the seminar.
