Jodo - The way of the Jo, wooden staff
The staff is one of the oldest human instruments, and has been used since the beginning of time as a weapon. In the early 17th century the Japanese form of staff-fighting was defined, and it is being used in Jodo up to this day. The jo is easy to handle and provides the opportunity to use a wide variety of fighting techniques, for example hitting, pushing swinging.

Im Jodo werden verschiedene Basisformen (Kihon) und Kata mit dem Ziel gelehrt, nicht nur die Technik, sondern auch die Persönlichkeit des Übenden weiterzuentwickkeln.
In Jodo different basic forms (Kihon) and Kata are taught with the goal to develop not only the technique but also the personality of the practitioner.
